Glycol Technologies

WHAT WE DO –

Glycol Technologies purchases glycols on the open commodity market and blends those glycols with inhibitors, dyes and de-ionized water for use in:

  • Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning, Closed Circuit Systems
  • Vehicles and Systems requiring Freeze, Burst & Boil-over Protection
  • Systems that Heat and Dehydrate Natural Gas

Glycol Technologies delivers those products to customers in all container sizes by every usual means of transportation and, when requested, prepares and preconditions customers’ facilities and installs the product in the customers’ storage or system and supervises the system initial operation.

Glycol Technologies reconditions glycol fluids in customers’ systems and reconditions, upgrades and relocates customers’ related plant equipment and facilities.

HOW DID WE GET HERE –

Glycol Technologies, Inc. (GTI) was incorporated in 2001. Its genesis was in a company called Genn and Logan Associates, co-founded in 1946 by Frederick Logan. That company was active in engineering and selling components related to industry – such as gas combustion systems, propane peaking plants, refrigeration test systems, air and gas filtration and ventilating air filtration systems. That endeavor became the Frederick Logan Company in the 1960’s and by the 1990’s was very active in the natural gas industry providing filters, separators, heat exchangers, water bath pipeline heaters and dehydrators used in gas gathering, gas storage and transmission operations.

Glycol fluids are essential in the operation of these systems for heat transfer, freeze protection and moisture absorption. Accordingly, Frederick Logan Company’s activities were expanded to reselling glycol fluids for use in the gas processing systems being provided to the natural gas industry.

In 2000 the glycol business had grown significantly and was made a separate division. Storage and blending facilities were set up in Knox, PA., and in 2001, the operation was incorporated as Glycol Technologies, Inc.

In 2003 GTI acquired additional expertise in industrial applications of glycol fluids and expanded its market beyond the natural gas industry to Commercial and Industrial Heating Ventilating & Air Conditioning, Freeze Protection for Vehicles and the General Industrial Sector and Dust Suppression for Mining.

In 2005, continuing the expansion of GTI to more effectively serve our clients, the storage and blending facilities were moved to our 19,000 sq ft plant in Ambridge, PA., which serves as the hub of our glycol fluids operations; including storage, blending and service operation.
